It has been awhile since I have written a blog so I thought I would sit down and write one or two. I headed up to Chicago on March 7th for the SEMA CUS.T.E.M. Program going on during World of Wheels on Friday. It is the 2nd Annual event hosting 5th-8th graders. The event went on from 9AM-1PM with around 300 students. The purpose of the event is to get youth at a young age interested in the automotive aftermarket industry not only as a hobby, but as a career. Groups of kids paired together and where given $40,000 budget to customize a vehicle. They were also given a catalog and a Excel spreadsheet to buy parts for the vehicle. Once completed, they presented there ideas to the judges just like on Shark Tank. The winners where awarded various prizes. It was a great experience and look forward to doing it again next year.
